A squint affects a child their whole life
Many people know that squint in children can cause reduced vision.
But did you know that the bigger effects are on their self-esteem and self-confidence?
And what’s more, those effects can carry through their whole lives?
As a parent, you want to give you child the best start in life, so they have happy childhoods and grow into confident adults.
It’s a sad reality that other children can be very cruel.
One of the worst things a parent has to face is seeing their child being teased or bullied about their squint.
Getting the right treatment, at the right time, is crucial to avoiding this harmful situation.
We help you to protect your child from bullying.
The best thing you as a parent can do for your child’s squint is to find the best doctor.
You need
- an expert in squint, not just a general ophthalmologist
- someone who knows when to operate, but more importantly, when NOT to operate
- someone who takes a holistic approach to your child’s well-being: eyes, vision, self-esteem, self-confidence.
It’s sad to learn that many children suffer harm, not just from their squint, but the way their squint is treated.
Yes, poor advice from eye professionals can actually make things worse.
Treating too early, doing the wrong operation, doing too many operations – all of these can cause lasting problems with a child’s eyes, vision and mental well-being.
We see many cases where adults regret the choices their parents were forced to make for them when they were a child on the basis of bad advice.
We know that navigating a child’s journey with squint can be overwhelming.
Opticians, orthoptists, ophthalmologists. Vision, prescriptions, angles. Glasses, patching, surgery.
It’s all very complex field so you need the guidance of a clinic that you can trust.
At the London Squint Clinic, you can hand all that over to our experts, so you can do what you do best – love your child.
